The NBCUniversal Evolution Plan represents a $100 million dollar investment
in transit. Included in the plan are local and regional improvements as well
as a Transportation Demand Management program.
When we invest in traffic improvements, the entire region benefits. The NBC
Universal Evolution Plan is committed to helping find solutions and is the
largest private investment in San Fernando Valley Transportation in over 25
years. Traffic improvements include:
Improving 139 intersections in the 50-square mile area surrounding Universal City
including upgrades, street widenings and synchronizing signals
Working with Caltrans to:
improve speeds, safety and congestion on 5 miles of 101 Freeway
improve the 134 and 101 Freeway interchange
reconfigure the northbound on-ramp to the 101 Freeway at Highland
Assisting Caltrans to unlock more than $200 million in potential transportation funding to the Valley
Constructing an alternative to Barham Boulevard with a new North/South Road through our property
Adding Lanes to Lankershim Boulevard and Barham Boulevard; signal coordination,
bike lanes and sidewalks for Forest Lawn Drive
Reducing new trips by connecting employees, visitors and new
residents to the adjacent MTA transit station
Creating a new residential shuttle system to nearby studios and other
employment hubs in Burbank, Hollywood and West Hollywood
When we invest $100 million to improve traffic, we become a catalyst and the
region benefits.
